  • Bought a new camera!

So I bought a new camera! After not having a point & shoot for the past 3-4 months (and suffocating from not being able to take pictures) I finally got myself to buying another NEW camera.

I've had two cameras stolen from me within a month period at the end of last year---a Canon5d (with a 16GB memory card, and a 50mm lens) and also a point and shot canon sd that I bought to replace the Canon5d a couple weeks later. (Truth be told, I am 99.9% sure it was my old roommate that was eventually kicked out of my house.) In any case, let bygones be bygones...and I'm moving on to taking photos again!

I also got a new cute suit for the summer. Time to hit the gym and stop being such a fatty. :(

    (VIX Swimsuit ordered from Gilt.com)

    Woohoo!

  • Xtineey Vs. Sinus Infection

So, here I am---a year later and I'm battling the same infectious plague as last year! (Case of the terrible sinus infections.)

I get these about once a year and it's quite a tragic infection to upkeep. Amongst the duties of caring for a sinus infection include: green mucus slime, stuff, congested headaches, fevers, body aches and cramps...

Basically, my head is a cloud of a mess and I can't think straight.

Last Friday I had to go to a walk through at a job site, and I took my puppy with me since he is in the process of being potty trained. While carrying my new iPad, cell phone, keys, papers for the project manager--my puppy decided to dart out of my car and straight into busy street traffic. I freaked out, of course, and tried my best to chase after him, but the boots I was wearing had absolutely no friction with the black asphalt. Naturally, I ate concrete and fell on my left elbow and both my knees. BUSTED. (Oh, and my iPad took a fall as well. Minor abrasions and some blood stains. Eek.)

I tore both my leggings and the cardigan I was wearing and did my best to look as graceful as possible getting back up to my feet. My puppy, in anguish (THANKFULLY) ran right to me when he saw me fall. (Good puppy.)

I couldn't even get myself to look at my elbows until 40 minutes later after the job walk was over. The cardigan (a lacy black one) had basically glued onto the blood on my elbows. Three days later (today)---I've still got black, purple, blue knees. Oh, and a sinus infection top of that. It literally feels like I've been in a car accident and am enduring the worst whiplash of my life! Ah well. Keep on truckin'!

Here are a few photos of the last few days. (Sorry I haven't been posting much--for some reason Xanga photo uploads weren't working for the past couple of weeks!)

Daniel and I at a good friends baby shower. We played a game with how big we thought the circumference of her belly was using ribbon. We were both off by way too many feet!

Homemad boiling crab! I found a recipe online and tweaked it and it was LEGIT. The key: butter. LOTS and LOTS of it. ;)

Homebaked Macarons. Now, THIS was a hard one to nail down. To get the little "feet" on the edges of the macarons were really tough. I got it on the second try, though, and they were DELICIOUS. I'm never spending $2 for one of these puppies EVER AGAIN! (Flavors: Almond and a vanilla center)

    St. Patty's Day cupcakes. Duh!

Alright, guys. Time to get back to work and give my body a rest. Hope you all have a bayootiful week!

    Where should I go next!?

For the past few years I've really been debating a trip back to the motherland (Taiwan) as well as hitting up Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam while I was at it.

Anywhere else worth seeing that you've all been to? (So far---I've been to: Mexico, Canada, Taiwan, all parts of China, North and South New Zealand, Austria, Germany, France, and Italy. States: Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, New York (a handful of times), Florida, and Texas.)

    Where to next!?

  • Denver Calls.

So, I'm back in Denver again---2nd time in the last 6 months! This place is absolutely wonderful on so many levels. Primarily because you can walk just about anywhere---and by anywhere, I mean a number of delicious eateries, cafes, and most importantly---breweries! (If any of you ever get a chance to visit Denver, make sure to check out "WYNKOOP" Brewery. They have a "Nacho" beer that literally tastes like spicy, nacho cheese in yo' mouth! In fact, it was SO GREAT---I brought 2 growlers back to Cali with me last time.)

UNFORTUNATELY---I'm here for business this second time around, and I was basically shafted and placed at the foot of the Rocky Mountains instead of where I'd rather be---10 miles inland at the mile high city. Well, what's a $50 car ride in and outta town, eh?

In any case, I'm only here for a one day conference and then it's back home to all my lovelies in the little OC bubble.

P.S. I dropped by a little boutique candy shop (Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop) on 16th Street and picked up a few goodies:

    Cupcake Toothpaste? Amazeballz.

Alrighty, goodnight friends. I'm waking up early---5 AM Cali time. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.S. I never follow "The Bachelor" but the reunion show is on TV at my hotel. Remind me to never eat again. These women are such skinny minnies.

  • NEW PUPPY!!!

So, Daniel and I went to the Irvine Shelter this afternoon about an hour before closing to look for a puppy. (This was something we had put a lot of thought into before deciding to jump the gun!) We had debated purchasing either a Shiba Inu (from a breeder---which we knew wouldn't be the "right" decision---but Shiba Inus are so hard to come by at shelters) OR we were going to adopt a puppy from the shelter. After leaving 85C in Irvine (and saying hi to some fellow xangans---members of "ASSCAT" and others) we headed over to the shelter and instantly fell in love with a puppy named 'Aspen'. The shelter isn't sure what kind of mix it is, but we honestly didn't care, because he was too darn cute. (Some of the staff thought he was a shepherd/pitbull mix while others are determined he's a shepherd/retriever mix.)

Anyway, we didn't meet the cutoff time for adopting him today, so we're going to be at the Irvine shelter first thing tomorrow morning to pick him up!! He's expected to grow between 50-70 lbs, so I'll finally have a dog I can run with! (I've grown up with yorkies that run out of breath by the time you get to the top of a hill.) So everyone---here he is:

Daniel and I are naming him "McCrae"---pronounced "Mc-Ray". McCrae is Daniel's family clan name from Scotland, and I was totally okay with the name---I mean, it sounds pretty gangster, doesn't it? Anyway, I'm super excited to bring him home tomorrow and I'm so glad we chose to go with rescuing a puppy from the shelter!!!!!!! Love, love, love!

  • El Lay

Going up to LA [otherwise known as hell-A] today to drop off some docs for work---I really, really, really detest LA traffic, so wish me luck!

On the plus side, I get to grab a lunch break with my sister who works downtown. She's a shm-engineer. NERD! jk. :)

So, to all my friends across the world---have a B-AYOO-TIFUL day!

PS---I TOTALLY MISSED THIS ONE---but my Xanga's 10 year anniversary was LAST MONTH!!! Yay yay yay! (I cannot believe it's been that long since I've had this thing open.)
